3 Days and Counting

My goal for this blog is to document the trip to Florida with my Dad, Step-Brother and Brother-in-Law.  This is the second year in a row that we are going to spring training, with the first year for Drew, and hope it turns into an annual trip for the guys.

The official website for spring traning baseball can be found here.  You can find information for all spring training baseball.

Its a sunny Friday in March, and in 3 days and a few hours I will be on a plane heading to Orlando Florida to meet my Dad, Step-Brother and my Brother-in-Law for 7 days of baseball.

Our trip starts with all of us getting to Orlando on Tuesday afternoon, we arrive within an hour of each other.  When we depart we are all leaving about the same time as well which worked out pretty good for all of us.

I am breaking the trip down into two legs, the fist leg we are going to be staying in the "center" of Florida south of Orlando so that we can access the west coast of the state for games out there, and on the second leg we are going to be staying in Port St. Lucie for the last 3 days to watch some East Coast games.

During the regular baseball season team rivalries are abundant, however during spring training (for me anyway) its just about baseball.  There is no other situation where you can take in as many games in a week and see teams that you can only watch on TV.  Another awesome advantage to spring training baseball is the access that you have to the pro's.  There is always an opportunity to get autographs, up close photos and even the opportunity to have your picture taken with your favorite pro player.

I hope to document not only the games that we go to, but the times that we have outside the stadium.

Stand by for future updates starting soon.

Stephen
